This doesn’t look like much–just a littered bottle cap I collected on my way home this afternoon as part of #OneADayInMay–but a community in Wales is showing how such rubbish can be used for good.
This is Edith. She is a wire-framed sculpture on the platform of Betws-y-Coed station in Wales that serves as a community art project: visitors and residents fill the sculpture with discarded plastic bottle caps to create an always changing, colourful artwork that also calls attention to the plight of rhinos. Wouldn’t it be great if more such projects could be developed to help people see rubbish in a new light?
