It’s no exaggeration to say that litter can be found everywhere and the country is in need of rescue from this scourge. For example, here’s an ancient monument with a modern problem: a plastic bottle collected during a visit to Silbury Hill.

I hope that many of those who are following Rubbish Walks or Off the Ground participate in tomorrow’s #ChippLitterPick by picking up and properly binning a piece or two of litter. Or, if you’re feeling ambitious and want to start a positive habit for change, try #OneADayInMay.

That will be a minimum of 31 pieces of litter off our streets. Trust me, you won’t have to look far to pick up just one piece, but the difference everyone can make by working together is enormous. So, please post your photos on Facebook or on Twitter, encourage friends and family to join in, and let’s clean up our communities and countryside.
