Wind and rain have been the theme for the past few weeks
(although thankfully the weather gods smiled on us during Saturday’s Community
Clean Up!), and some of the litter is showing clear signs have having gone a
few rounds with Mother Nature. The cardboard
is swelling and soggy, the colours on many products are less vibrant, and …
well, that’s about it. The plastic
continues to show no signs of changing, and the paper products like the receipt
and sandwich wrapper seem to have reached an equilibrium.
Although we’re only 9 weeks into LitterWatch2017, I think
the importance of making sure rubbish is disposed of properly is clear: it
takes more than reliance on the British weather to put an end to it.
