Many thanks to the group who turned up today for our third “unofficial” litter pick in Woody Woods (or so Google calls), a lovely patch of woodland across from Donkey Field. These clean ups are designed to be quick and easy: no gazebo set up, no sign in, just getting on with the cleaning. Please consider joining the Off the Ground mailing list to be notified about the next such litter pick – drop me a line at hello@off-the-ground.org to be included.
The first time Jon and I cleaned this area on our own way back in 2015 we found over 30 bags of rubbish. Today everyone commented that it was the best we’ve ever seen it … and yet we still managed to recover 4 bags of general rubbish and 4 bags of recycling.
However, we are making a difference: from 33 bags in 2015, we were down to 18 in 2016, 10 in 2017, and 8 this year. Maybe one of these times we’ll be able to skip the litter picking and just have a picnic?!
