Off the Ground is now off the ground!

We made the decision many months ago to rebrand as Off the Ground in order to widen the focus to litter prevention, in addition to the mitigation provided by cleaning.  In a case of better late than never, the website is now live!  Some content still needs to be added, but everything is taking shape and I hope to have it up by the end of the month.

What does this mean for Rubbish Walks?  I still consider cleaning important and the Rubbish Walks website, Facebook page, and Twitter feed will remain active to showcase what is found on individual rubbish walks and organised Community Clean Ups in Chippenham.

However, Off the Ground will serve as an umbrella organisation, covering three key components of litter prevention: Clean Up, Education, and Projects.  We hope it will serve as a resource and reference for others interested in doing something similar in their own communities.  Would you like to get involved or have ideas to share?  Please get in touch!

In the meantime, please consider joining us on Saturday, 9 January at Donkey Field for our first Community Clean Up of 2016. We’ll be set up from 10:00am until noon (weather permitting!); pop by for 5 minutes or stay the whole two hours. Hope to see you there, and let’s all do our bit to put litter in its place.  Full stop.
