Mayday, Mayday, Mayday

“Mayday” is an international signal of distress, and as the UK is sinking under tonnes of litter, it seemed an appropriate way to kick off One a Day in May.

I certainly didn’t have to go very far to find rubbish: simply a quick stroll into the back garden saw me collect several pieces of litter that had blown over from the playing fields at Hardenhuish and Sheldon Schools. So if you’re planning on a lazy Bank Holiday Monday, you probably don’t have to look far from your front door to find one–or more–pieces of litter start the month.

Share your finds Facebook or Twitter, and let’s see how much we can clean up this May … and don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Big Avon Clean Up on 13 May. We’ll be meeting near the basketball courts from 10:00am – hope to see you there!
